The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand and Permanent Representative to UNESCAP, E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe had the honor of being the chief guest at the Navaratri Pooja held at the Maha Mari Amman Hindu Temple in Bangkok on 11.10.2024. The event, which celebrates the vibrant festival of Navaratri, brought together devotees and members of the Hindu community in a spirit of devotion and unity. <\/p>\n

During the ceremony, Ambassador Edirisinghe expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this auspicious occasion, emphasizing the significance of cultural and religious diversity in strengthening community bonds.<\/p>\n

The event featured traditional prayers, cultural performances, and offerings to the deities, showcasing the rich heritage and customs of the Hindu faith. Members of the community expressed their appreciation for the Ambassador’s presence, highlighting the importance of diplomatic engagement in promoting understanding and cooperation among diverse cultures. <\/p>\n

The Maha Mari Amman Hindu Temple, known for its beautiful architecture and serene atmosphere, serves as a spiritual hub for the Hindu community in Bangkok. The Navaratri Pooja is a significant event in the Hindu calendar, celebrating the divine feminine and the triumph of good over evil. <\/p>\n

Ambassador Wijayanthi Edirisinghe concluded by wishing the attendees a joyful and blessed Navaratri, reaffirming Sri Lanka’s commitment to fostering cultural exchange and mutual respect among all communities in Thailand. Head of Chancery A.W.S Samanmali, Attache Anjana Ileperuma joined the event from the Embassy. <\/p>\n
