The initiative was led by Ven. Namaldeniye Maha Dhammasumana Thero, in close collaboration with the temple and with the support of the Thai devotees. The special programme is part of the ongoing commemorative events marking the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Thailand, which are rooted in the shared heritage of Therav\u0101da Buddhism. <\/p>\n The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, attended the event as the Chief Guest, accompanied by members of the Embassy staff.<\/p>\n In her address, Ambassador Edirisinghe highlighted the deeply rooted Buddhist ties between Sri Lanka and Thailand, emphasizing that such programmes not only strengthen religious and cultural bonds, but also provide Sri Lankans with a meaningful spiritual experience. She expressed appreciation to Wat Dhammamongkol Temple, Sukhumvit and Thai devotees for organizing the programme and extended the Embassy\u2019s fullest support and cooperation for its continued
