Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, hosted a meeting with senior representatives from Colombo Port City, marking an important step towards strengthening investment and business relations between Sri Lanka and Thailand.<\/p>\n

The Colombo Port City delegation included Regional Head of Investment Promotion (Asia and Pacific) for Port City Colombo Special Economic Zone, Sarayut Lekplipol, Director of Industry Investment at CHEC Port City Colombo Pvt Ltd, Shi Mingguang, and Manager of Business Development for Investment Promotion and Marketing at CHEC Port City Colombo Pvt Ltd, Michael Hu.<\/p>\n

The delegation outlined Colombo Port City’s vision to position itself as a premier hub for regional offices and trading offices. As part of this initiative, they proposed a high level investment summit specifically designed to attract secondary investments from companies in Thailand. They requested the Embassy\u2019s assistance to facilitate engagement with prominent Thai chambers and trade associations, inviting their members to participate in this event. <\/p>\n

Ambassador Edirisinghe underscored the Embassy\u2019s commitment to facilitating these initiatives, emphasizing the strategic role of Port City Colombo as a gateway for regional investment in South Asia. Both sides agreed to maintain close collaboration to foster stronger economic ties and unlock new business opportunities between Sri Lanka and Thailand. <\/p>\n
