The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand and Permanent Representative to UNESCAP, E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe and the Embassy Staff paid a courtesy visit to the revered Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan (Wat Pho Temple) where she met with the esteemed Abbot, Most Venerable Phra Thepsithikarn.<\/p>\n

Most Venerable Phra Thepsithikarn warmly welcomed the Ambassador and the staff, highlighting the long-standing ties between Sri Lanka and Thailand, both deeply rooted in Buddhist tradition.<\/p>\n

In a gesture of goodwill and mutual respect, the Abbot bestowed blessings upon the Ambassador, wishing for continued harmony and cooperation between the two nations. The Ambassador took this opportunity to discuss initiatives aimed at strengthening cultural exchanges and enhancing buddhist relations. <\/p>\n

Wat Pho, known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is one of the oldest and largest temples in Bangkok, attracting visitors from around the world. The temple is renowned for its stunning architecture and intricate murals. <\/p>\n

In a spirit of interfaith harmony, the Ambassador E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe also visited the Maha Mariamman Hindu Temple where she was warmly received by the Head Priest and the President of the Hindu Temple.<\/p>\n

The Head Priest conducted a traditional blessing ceremony with prayers for peace, prosperity, and continued development of the people of Sri Lanka and Thailand.<\/p>\n
