Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka Explores Collaboration with Chitralada Technology Institute of Thailand
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand and Permanent Representative to the UNESCAP, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, paid a visit to the Chitralada Technology Institute (CDTI) in Bangkok, following an invitation extended by Associate Professor Khunying Sumonta Promboon, President of Chitralada Technology Institute.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, Mrs. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, recently had a meeting with the Executive Committee of the Thai–Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce (TSLCC) to discuss the strategic plan for the period from 2025 -2027 of the TSLCC, at the Embassy premises in Bangkok.

Sri Lanka Ambassador Wijayanthi Edirisinghe paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Munet of the Kingdom of Cambodia at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, following her presentation to the His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia. This high-level engagement marks a significant step in reinforcing the longstanding relationship between the two nations.
During the meeting, Ambassador Edirisinghe highlighted several key initiatives that have taken throughout the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and collaborative prospects, including Temple to Temple Diplomacy, initiated aiming at augmenting and strengthening Buddhist links. The Ambassador requested Cambodian support to ensure the success of this culturally significant project.
Ambassador Edirisinghe further expressed keen interest in further deepening economic ties, for the mutual benefits of enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism. Both nations are poised to work together towards achieving these shared objectives.
She also highlighted that Sri Lanka has launched the nationwide Clean Sri Lanka Project with the guidance of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake an initiative designed to foster a cleaner physical environment alongside a moral commitment to enhanced ethical principles. This project reflects Sri Lanka’s dedication to sustainable development and community well-being.
Reaffirming Sri Lanka’s belief in the importance of stronger ties with Cambodia, a member of ASEAN and Southeast Asian nations, the Ambassador stressed that closer cooperation in these areas is essential for global economic development and growth.
Prime Minister Hun Munet reiterated Cambodia’s commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship with Sri Lanka across multiple sectors. He emphasized that this collaboration will not only boost economic and cultural exchanges but also contribute to regional stability and shared prosperity of the interest of two countries.
Both sides expressed optimism about future initiatives and pledged to work collaboratively to address common challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities for mutual benefit.
