Sri Lanka and Thailand Bolster Defence Cooperation Through Officer-Level Engagement
A 21-member delegation from the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) of Sri Lanka, led by Captain S.K. Vidanage, USP, psc, GR of the Sri Lanka Navy, is currently undertaking a study tour in Thailand from 28 July to 8 August 2025.

Sri Lanka and Thailand Deepen Defence Ties Through Staff College Delegation Visit
Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand Wijayanthi Edirisinghe and the delegation from the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) of Sri Lanka visited the National Defence Studies Institute (NDSI) of Thailand on 01 August 2025 in sideline to the study tour aimed at enhancing bilateral defence cooperation and strategic dialogue between Sri Lanka and Thailand. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Commanding General Pongtep Gaewchaiyo of the NDSI.

The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with Minor Hotels organised the Sri Lanka Food Festival at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel from 11-15 February 2025. This event showcased the rich and diverse culinary traditions of Sri Lanka, bringing a taste of the island’s authentic flavors to the heart of Bangkok.
Minor Hotels, an international hotel owner, operator, and investor headquartered in Bangkok, is one of the leading Thai investors in Sri Lanka, with a significant presence through its five properties on the island: Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle, Anantara Kalutara, Avani Kalutara, NH Collection Colombo, and NH Bentota.
To create an authentic Sri Lankan culinary experience, the Embassy brought four skilled chefs from the Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort to Thailand for the festival. These talented chefs prepared an array of traditional Sri Lankan dishes, offering guests a chance to experience the island’s renowned flavors, vibrant spices, and culinary techniques.
The Sri Lanka Food Festival is part of a series of events organized by the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Thailand.
