Sri Lanka Showcases Its Creativity at the Amazing Thailand Global Thai Silk Exhibition 2026
Sri Lanka participated in the Amazing Thailand Global Thai Silk Exhibition 2026, an international initiative showcasing the cultural identities of more than 100 countries through contemporary fashion designs incorporating Thai silk. The initiative was organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in collaboration with the Association for the Promotion of Thai Silk and Culture.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Bangkok organized a “Sri Lanka EXPO 2027 – Promotion and Networking Session” on 07 October 2026 in Bangkok, with the participation of prospective Thai business representatives, investors, buyers, industry stakeholders and journalists.
An official invitation was recently extended to Mrs. World 2025 from Thailand, Ms. Chanita Seedaket Craythorne, inviting her to visit Sri Lanka as the Guest of Honour at the launch ceremony of Mrs. Sri Lanka World 2026.
The invitation was formally handed over to Mrs. World 2025, by the National Director of Mrs. Sri Lanka World and the occasion was graced by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, during a meeting held at the Official Residence of the Ambassador and was attended by Ms. Chanita’s spouse and son.
The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen cultural and people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and Thailand, while highlighting the growing cooperation and exchanges in the fields of culture, tourism, fashion, and international pageantry.
Ambassador Edirisinghe welcomed the participation of Mrs. World 2025 in the forthcoming launch of Mrs. Sri Lanka World 2026 and underscored the importance of fostering closer ties between Sri Lanka and Thailand through cultural diplomacy and people-to-people exchanges.
During the discussions, National Director Mr. Chandimal Jayasinghe briefed Mrs. World 2025 on the significance of the Mrs. Sri Lanka World pageant and its role in empowering women, promoting cultural values, and showcasing Sri Lanka’s rich heritage on the global stage. Mrs. Chanita graciously accepted the invitation and expressed her appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Thailand.
The visit marks another milestone in strengthening the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Thailand and is expected to further enhance bilateral cooperation in the areas of culture, tourism promotion, and international events.
