Sri Lanka–Thailand Medical Partnership to Deliver 71 Free Knee Surgeries
A special Buddhist fundraising event was held in support of a landmark humanitarian medical initiative aimed at enhancing access to orthopedic care in Sri Lanka.

15 Sri Lankans Rescued from Cybercrime Centres in Myawaddy, Myanmar to be Repatriated on 07 May 2025
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, in close coordination with the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Thailand and the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Myanmar, has successfully facilitated the rescue of 15 Sri Lankan nationals who had been trafficked and forcibly employed in cybercrime centres in Myawaddy, Myanmar on 06th May 2025. The rescued individuals are scheduled to be repatriated to Sri Lanka on 07 May 2025.

The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with Minor Hotels, organised the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Week from 10-16 February 2025 at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.
This week long event highlighted the ancient and holistic healing practices of Ayurveda, offering Thai customers the opportunity to experience the therapeutic benefits of Sri Lanka’s traditional wellness treatments.
To ensure an authentic experience, the Embassy invited the esteemed Ayurveda doctor Kasun Gunawardena from Adhitya Ayurveda, Sri Lanka, who led consultations throughout the week, offering attendees valuable insights into Ayurvedic medicine and treatments tailored to their individual needs.
The Sri Lanka Ayurveda Week was part of a series of events organized by the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Thailand.
