As part of her official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Cambodia, H.E. E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Ministry of Interior on 04 August 2026. The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Sri Lanka and Cambodia to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in addressing transnational organized crime, combating cyber-enabled fraud and human trafficking, and enhancing consular collaboration.

Marking a significant milestone in the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Cambodia and reaffirming the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka officially inaugurated its first Honorary Consulate in the Kingdom of Cambodia on 05 August 2026 at the historic Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh.

A delegation of 20 members from the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) of Sri Lanka, Course No. 20, paid an official visit to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Bangkok on Thursday, 30 July 2026, as part of their overseas study tour in Thailand.

The Ambassador & Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to Thailand, E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe attended a temporary ordination ceremony of thirty-three Sri Lankan devotees who entered the Buddhist monkhood to undertake intensive meditation training under the Guru Samadhi programme, following the teachings of His Eminence Somdej Phra Yanavajirodom.

The Staff of the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Bangkok joined the national initiative “A Culture of Integrity – A Clean Sri Lanka” at the commencement of the National Integrity Week on 27 July 2026 by taking the Integrity Oath/Pledge 2026 during the formal ceremony held at the Embassy. The Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of Sri Lanka, Chathuranga Abeysinghe, undertook an official visit to Thailand to participate in the UNDP Youth Co Lab Summit, held in Bangkok, where policymakers, development partners, entrepreneurs, and youth leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region gathered to discuss innovative solutions for sustainable and inclusive economic development.

The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Thailand, in collaboration with the Thai-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce (TSLCC), successfully organized a Business Forum with the Sri Lankan and Thai business community on 02 July in Bangkok.

The Sri Lankan delegation, led by Hon. Anton Jayakody, Deputy Minister of Environment, actively participated in the Ninth Session of the Committee on Environment and Development (CED-9) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), held in Bangkok from 1 to 3 July 2026.
