A warm welcome was extended by the President and the Board of Trustees of AIT to Ambassador Wijayanthi Edirisinghe attended first time. The Head of Chancery, A.W.S. Samanmali also joined the Board of Trustees Meeting from the Mission.

On 16th August 2024, Ambassador-designate of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand and the Permanent Representative to United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia & Pacific (UNESCAP), Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, formally presented open copies of the Letters of Credence, Letter of Recall and the written Speech to His Majesty the King of Thailand. These were received by the Director General of Protocol, Chakkrid Krachaiwong, at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok.
