นครแคนดี้อันรุ่งเรืองกลับมามีชีวิตชีวาขึ้นอีกครั้งในทุกๆ ปี พร้อมกับแสงสี นักระบำไฟ นักกายกรรม นักดนตรี นักระบำพื้นเมือง นักตีกลอง ทั้งหมดนี้มาพร้อมกันในขบวนพิธีอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ที่โดดเด่นที่มีมากว่า 1700 ปีมาแล้ว เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองพระเจ้า และสักการะพระบรมสารีริกธาตุแห่งองค์สมเด็จพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า อันเป็นพิธีที่สะท้อนถึงวัฒนธรรมที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดในโลก

แคนดี้ เอสละ เประเฮระ หรือที่รู้จักในอีกชื่อหนึ่งว่า ดะละดา เประเฮระ หรือ “เทศกาลแห่งพระธาตุเขี้ยวแก้ว” ถือเป็นงานเฉลิมฉลองของชาวพุทธที่ดีเสิศที่สุดของประเทศ เพื่อรับพรจากพระเจ้า และขอพรให้แก่ประเทศเกาะแห่งนี้ โดยจะมีการขอฝนเพื่อให้สามารถเก็บเกี่ยวพืชพรรณธัญญาหารได้อย่างอุดมสมบูรณ์ เทศกาลนี้จะจัดขึ้นเป็นเวลา 11 วัน ประกอบด้วยพิธีต่าง ๆ ที่จะสะกดสายตาผู้ชมทั่วโลก จะจัดให้มีขบวนพิธีขึ้นอีกครั้งบนท้องถนนในเมืองแคนดี้ ในระหว่างวันที่ 13 ถึง 23 สิงหาคม ภายใต้แนวปฏิบัติด้านสุขอนามัยและความปลอดภัย ในช่วงเวลาที่มีการแพร่ระบาดของโรคในปีนี้
