Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Bangkok Meets with UNODC Regional Representative to Address Transboundary Human Trafficking Issues

The Ambassador and Permanent Representative E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe met with the UNODC Regional Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Masood Karimipour on 09 th January 2025, to discuss the pressing issue of emerging transboundary human trafficking challenges in the region. Regional Representative was accompanied by Rebecca Miller, Regional Programme Coordinator for Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling. The First Secretary and the Head of Chancery A.W. S Samanmali also joined the discussion.

(effective from with effect from 11:59 pm on 21 May 2021 to 11:59 pm 31 May 2021) for inbound passenger arrivals to Sri Lanka will be removed w.e.f. 1 June 2021 and the related conditions that were effective before 21 May will remain unchanged.

Restriction will continue until further notice, on inbound passengers who have travelled to and/ or remained in India within the past 14 days from the date of their intended return journey to Sri Lanka.

All inbound passengers will be subjected to mandatory quarantine of 14 days as per the guidelines of the Director General of Health Services of Sri Lanka dated 11 May 2021.
