Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Thailand
On 15 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mrs. E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Thailand, to raise the issue of the wellbeing of the two Thai elephants in Sri Lanka.
Strengthening Sacred Bonds: Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand Visits Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University to Enhance Buddhist Cooperation
Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand, E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, paid an official visit to Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) to discuss avenues for strengthening religious and academic cooperation between Sri Lanka and Thailand, rooted in their long-standing Theravada Buddhist heritage.

– Last night, on 18 April, the Prime Minister visited some local checkpoints around Bangkok to observe operations and give moral support to officers.
– Thailand’s first “hospitel” is at Thammasat University, Rangsit campus. It provides over 300 beds, which will help reduce the congestion of COVID-19 patients in the hospitals.
– Thailand has opened its land borders and is allowing Thai nationals to return home. More than 3,500 Thais have already registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
