Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), Wijayanthi Edirisinghe was one of the Vice Chairs of the Second Committee on Trade, Investment, Enterprise and Business Innovation, held from 28 to 30 May 2025 in Bangkok.
Sri Lanka–Thailand Medical Partnership to Deliver 71 Free Knee Surgeries
A special Buddhist fundraising event was held in support of a landmark humanitarian medical initiative aimed at enhancing access to orthopedic care in Sri Lanka.
📌📌HIGHLIGHTS:
– New cases = 33, deaths = 0, total cases = 2,733, total deaths = 47, and total cured = 1,787
– Even though Thailand has been successful in keeping the new cases low, we should still keep our guard up.
– The PM has addressed the priority to help people tackle the pandemic by cooperation from both public and private sectors.
– Nine provinces in Thailand have no reports of infected persons, while there are two more provinces that have had no reports of new cases in 14 days, bringing the total to 29 provinces.
