Sri Lanka and Thailand Discuss Strengthening Labour Cooperation

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, met with the Minister of Labour of Thailand, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn on 10th March 2025 to discuss strengthening labour cooperation between the two countries. The meeting was held in a spirit of mutual collaboration and reinforced the long-standing bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Thailand, particularly in the areas of trade, tourism, and labour cooperation.

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, concurrently accredited to Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR), Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, met with the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism of Lao PDR Suanesavanh Vignaket, in Vientiane. The meeting underscored the strong cultural and diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Lao PDR, particularly in the realms of Theravāda Buddhism, tourism, and cultural cooperation.

Vaccination of Foreign Residents living in Thailand
1. Foreign residents aged 75 and above

Eligible persons: Foreign residents aged 75 and above living in Bangkok and neighboring provinces (Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, and Nakom Pathom)
Method: Walk-in and receive same day vaccination
Venue: The Central Vaccination Center – Bangsue Grand Station (Gate 2) Opening hours: 09:00 – 16:00 daily
Required document: Passport or official identification document
Remarks: Foreign residents who reside in other provinces can contact hospitals in their area or hospital with their medical records.

2. Foreign residents aged 60 to 74

Eligible persons: Foreign residents aged 60 to 74 living in Bangkok and neighboring provinces (Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, and Nakom Pathom)
Method:
Step 1 – Pre-register through the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs via link https://forms.gle/ULAqvx8eiDoX3v5Q9

Step 2 – The Central Vaccination Center notifies registered persons of the vaccination appointment via sms/email.

Venue: The Central Vaccination Center – Bangsue Grand Station (Gate 2)

Time: According to appointment

Required documents:
1. Passport or official identification document
2. Appointment confirmation (sms/email)

Remarks: Foreign residents who reside in other provinces can contact hospitals in their area or hospital with their medical records.

3. Foreign residents with underlying medical conditions or pregnant women

Eligible persons: 1. Foreign residents who are diagnosed with any of the seven underlying medical conditions:

1. Chronic respiratory diseases
2. Cardiovascular diseases
3. Chronic kidney diseases
4. Cerebrovascular diseases
5. All types of cancer during chemotherapy, radiotherapy and autoimmune therapy
6. Diabetes
7. Obesity (weighing more than 100 kilograms or BMI more than 35 kilograms per square meter)

2. Pregnant women, in which gestational age is 12 weeks or above.

Method: Pre-register with and receive appointment confirmation from the following designated hospitals:

1. Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital, Bangkok
2. MedPark Hospital, Bangkok
3. Vimut Hospital, Bangkok
4. Phyathai 2 Hospital, Bangkok
5. BNH Hospital, Bangkok
6. Bumrungrad Hospital, Bangkok
7. Bangkok Khon Kaen Hospital, Khon Kaen
8. Bangkok Phuket Hospital, Phuket
9. Samitivej Sriracha Hospital, Chonburi
10. Bangrak Vaccination & Health Center, Bangkok

Required documents:

1. Passport or official identification document
2. Appointment confirmation (sms/email)
3. Official medical certificate confirming the diagnosis of the underlying medical condition(s)
4. Pregnant women must have a medical certificate from the hospital confirming that vaccination is allowed.
