During the visit, Ambassador Edirisinghe requested the assistance of Wat Phra Dhammakaya in supporting the development of Sri Lankan temples and facilitating the participation of Sri Lankan monks and devotees in the annual Dhamma programme organized by the temple. Ambassador Edirisinghe also met with five Sri Lankan novice monks participating in the AEC and WAB International Monastic Ordination Project, who were engaged in practicing the ordination ceremony.
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange views on religious cooperation and to further strengthen the longstanding Buddhist and cultural ties between Sri Lanka and Thailand. The Embassy of Sri Lanka looks forward to continued cooperation with Wat Phra Dhammakaya in promoting religious understanding, Buddhist exchanges and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
