Sri Lankan Ambassador Attends Opening Ceremony of Chanthaburi International Gemstone Market Exhibition 2026
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, attended the Opening Ceremony of the Chanthaburi International Gemstone Market Exhibition 2026.
The exhibition, held in Chanthaburi, one of Thailand’s renowned centres for the trading, cutting and processing of gemstones, aims to further promote Chanthaburi as a leading international hub for the gemstone and jewellery trade. It also provides an important platform for strengthening trade relations, expanding business networks and facilitating new commercial partnerships between Thailand and international participants.
Sri Lanka and Cambodia Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Cooperation in Combating Cybercrime, Human Trafficking and Transnational Organized Crime
As part of her official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Cambodia, H.E. E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Ministry of Interior on 04 August 2026. The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Sri Lanka and Cambodia to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in addressing transnational organized crime, combating cyber-enabled fraud and human trafficking, and enhancing consular collaboration.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka & Permanent Representative to the Kingdom of Thailand E.A.S Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, participated in the “CTBT@30: 30 Years of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) in ASEAN” Youth Outreach Event, jointly organized by the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) and the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) in Bangkok.
The event brought together with Dr. Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of CTBTO, Ambassador, Diplomats crops , Government officials, experts, and young participants to commemorate three decades of the CTBT and to highlight its vital role in advancing international peace, security, and cooperation through science and multilateralism.
The Ambassador attended an engage panel discussion featuring distinguished experts, whose insightful presentations and active interaction with the audience underscored the importance of youth engagement, scientific collaboration, and the continued global commitment to the objectives of the CTBT.
The event reaffirmed that the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty remains a cornerstone of the international disarmament and non-proliferation architecture, strengthening global peace and security through international cooperation and scientific innovation.
Sri Lanka remains committed to supporting multilateral efforts aimed at promoting a safer, more peaceful, and nuclear weapon-free world.
