Strengthening Buddhist Heritage Diplomacy: Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Thailand Delivers a Lecture at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University

The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to UNESCAP in Bangkok, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, was invited to deliver a lecture on “Guardians of the Dhamma: The Role of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and Anagarika Dharmapala’s Pioneering Efforts to Preserve Buddhagaya” at the Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, one of Thailand’s foremost centres of Buddhist higher education on 17 March 2026.

Ambassador has also paid courtesy calls on the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune, and the Director General of Asia Pacific and Africa Department, Viroth Sundara, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On 07th November 2022, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Vientiane, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand and Permanent Representative to UNESCAP, C.A. Chaminda I Colonne, handed over open copies of Letter of Credence to Director General of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amphay Kindavong, as the Sri Lanka Ambassador to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
