Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Thailand
On 15 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mrs. E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Thailand, to raise the issue of the wellbeing of the two Thai elephants in Sri Lanka.

Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand, E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, paid an official visit to Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) to discuss avenues for strengthening religious and academic cooperation between Sri Lanka and Thailand, rooted in their long-standing Theravada Buddhist heritage.

பெற்றோரின் அன்பையும் தியாகத்தையும் நினைவுகூருவதற்கு ஆண்டின் ஒரு நாள் போதாது என்றாலும், உலகம் கொரோனா தொற்றுக்கிருமியால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் இத்தருணத்தில் தங்கள் குழந்தைகளுடன் நெருங்கிய தொடர்பு கொள்ள முடியாமல், அத்தியாவசிய சேவைகளுக்காக தம்மை அர்ப்பணித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும் பெற்றோர்களுக்கும் எனது கௌரவம் நிறைந்த வாழ்த்துகள்.
June 01 is the International Parents’ Day.
Parenthood is one of the greatest gifts of all times. Dedicating one day for the year is not sufficient to celebrate and appreciate the love and sacrifice of our parents.
I take this moment to pay my respects to parents in the front line workforce who are tirelessly fighting this COVID-19 global pandemic, whilst having to stay away from their own children.
