Showcasing authentic Sri Lankan craftsmanship and premium products, the Embassy highlighted handicrafts from the National Crafts Council, Ceylon cinnamon from Excellensa Impex Pvt Ltd, and Ceylon tea from K Square Lanka Pvt. Ltd.

The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka Facilitates the Thai AirAsia Production Team to Sri Lanka to Promote Buddhist Pilgrimage Tourism

The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Thailand recently facilitated the visit of a 21 member production team from Thai AirAsia, including two renowned Thai YouTubers, Kongkapan Sangsuriya and Saksit Tangthong to Sri Lanka to promote Buddhist pilgrimage tourism. This initiative aims to highlight the deep historical and religious connections between Sri Lanka and Thailand, while showcasing Sri Lanka’s rich Buddhist heritage to Thai travelers.

Tourist arrivals cross 30,000 in first 10 days of February
Sri Lanka’s tourist arrivals crossed the 30,000 mark in the first 10 days of February. The provisional data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) showed that the country welcomed a total of 31,343 tourists from1st – 10th. February.

The arrival rate for the month of February brings the daily arrival average to 3,134. Russia continues to lead as the largest tourist traffic generator for Sri Lanka, with 4,566 visitors from that country. The UK takes over India’s position as the second largest, with 3,799 arrivals. India ranks the third, with 3,575 visitors.

The other key source markets include Germany, Ukraine, France, Poland and Kazakhstan.
