15 Sri Lankans Rescued from Cybercrime Centres in Myawaddy, Myanmar to be Repatriated on 07 May 2025
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, in close coordination with the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Thailand and the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Myanmar, has successfully facilitated the rescue of 15 Sri Lankan nationals who had been trafficked and forcibly employed in cybercrime centres in Myawaddy, Myanmar on 06th May 2025. The rescued individuals are scheduled to be repatriated to Sri Lanka on 07 May 2025.

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand and the Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Wijayanthi Edirisinghe invited to attend a panel discussion at the BIMSTEC-ESCAP side event held during the 81st ESCAP Commission Session under the theme “Harnessing Digital Technologies for Sustainable Development in the Bay of Bengal Region.” On 23.04.2025.

Dear Foreign Community in Thailand,
In cooperation with MOPH, Department of Disease Control, and agencies concerned, MFA wishes to inform that we will provide vaccination for non-Thai residents as follows:
We will provide walk-in registration for Covid-19 vaccination for foreigners aged 75 and over (born in 1946 or before and never received first dose Covid-19 vaccine).
– Starting 19 July 2021, all foreigners residing in Thailand aged 75 and over can register by walk-in process at the Central vaccination center – Bangsue Grand Station between 9:00 – 16:00 hrs.
– Please bring your passport, proof of residence, eg. visa, permanent residence card, work permit
– Walk-in registration is available at Gates 2, 3 and 4. Note that the Bangsue Grand Station is also used to vaccinate the Thai public.
– Please strictly observe COVID-19 preventive measures during your travel and at vaccination sites.
Please note that the walk-in registration is open daily but there is a limited slot for each day.
Please plan you visit accordingly.
