As part of her official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Cambodia, H.E. E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Ministry of Interior on 04 August 2026. The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Sri Lanka and Cambodia to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in addressing transnational organized crime, combating cyber-enabled fraud and human trafficking, and enhancing consular collaboration.

Marking a significant milestone in the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Cambodia and reaffirming the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka officially inaugurated its first Honorary Consulate in the Kingdom of Cambodia on 05 August 2026 at the historic Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh.
On this auspicious occasion we express our deepest appreciation for Your Majesty’s significant contributions to the Thai-Sri Lanka long standing relations. Your vision has advanced the progress and prosperity in both our countries, the region and beyond.
