Embassy of Sri Lanka Participates in “Ambassador for a Day 2026” initiative, in connection with International Women’s Day

The “Ambassador for a Day 2026” initiative is organized by the Women Ambassadors Group in partnership with United Nations in Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, together with diplomatic missions and UN agencies based in Thailand. The 2026 edition was held under the theme “Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls.”

To raise awareness, as both Sri Lanka and Thailand are gradually preparing for welcoming tourists in the context of post COVID 19, Ambassador H.E. (Mrs.) Samantha K. Jayasuriya and staff of the Embassy discussed a range of promotional activities beyond Buddhist Trail Tourism with officials of Thai Travel Agents Association (TTAA) over a meal of delicious Thai and Sri Lankan food prepared by Sri Lankan Chef Heshan Peiris at Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts on 29 Sep 2020 Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority Tourism Sri Lanka
