Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Thailand
On 15 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mrs. E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Thailand, to raise the issue of the wellbeing of the two Thai elephants in Sri Lanka.

Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand, E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, paid an official visit to Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) to discuss avenues for strengthening religious and academic cooperation between Sri Lanka and Thailand, rooted in their long-standing Theravada Buddhist heritage.
H.E. (Mrs.) Samantha K. Jayasuriya, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand called on Madam Pikulkaew Krairiksh, Senator, Chairperson of Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and held a cordial discussion on further strengthening the links between Sri Lanka and Thai, especially with regard to parliamentary relations and foreign affairs.
