Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya attends in 6th BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok

Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, participated in the 6th Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit held in Bangkok, Thailand on 3–4 April 2025. The Summit, hosted under the theme of regional resilience and prosperity, brought together leaders of the seven BIMSTEC Member States to strengthen cooperation and chart a forward-looking agenda for the region.

Hans Guttman, Executive Director of Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) paid a courtesy call on C.A. Caminda I Colonne, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand and Permanent Representative to UNESACP to update on ongoing and upcoming activities of ADPC and the registration of ADPC in Sri Lanka on 09th January 2023 at the Embassy. The discussion was also held on finalization of the draft Host-Country Agreement (HCA) for ADPC in Sri Lanka. Major General (Rtd) Sudantha Ranasignhe, the focal point of ADPC for Sri Lanka and Director General of the Disaster Management Centre joined the discussion virtually from Sri Lanka. Aslam Perwaiz, Deputy Executive Director of ADPC and the A.W.S. Samanmali, First Secretary/Head of Chancery were also participated in the meeting.
