15 Sri Lankans Rescued from Cybercrime Centres in Myawaddy, Myanmar to be Repatriated on 07 May 2025

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, in close coordination with the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Thailand and the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Myanmar, has successfully facilitated the rescue of 15 Sri Lankan nationals who had been trafficked and forcibly employed in cybercrime centres in Myawaddy, Myanmar on 06th May 2025. The rescued individuals are scheduled to be repatriated to Sri Lanka on 07 May 2025.

Sri Lanka and Cambodia Exempt Visa for holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports with effect from 24th December 2022

The Agreement on Exemption of the Visa Requirement for holders of the Diplomatic and Official Passports between Sri Lanka and Cambodia signed on 10th of May 2022, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at Phnom Penh, Ambassador and Permanent Representative, C.A. Chaminda I Colonne of Sri Lanka and Koy Kuong, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has been enforced with effect from 24th December 2022.
