Sri Lanka and Federation of Thai Industries Collaborates to Strengthen Economic Ties
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, met with Kriengkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), on 10 th January 2025 to discuss enhancing trade, investment, tourism and industrial collaboration between Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Bangkok Meets with UNODC Regional Representative to Address Transboundary Human Trafficking Issues
The Ambassador and Permanent Representative E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe met with the UNODC Regional Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Masood Karimipour on 09 th January 2025, to discuss the pressing issue of emerging transboundary human trafficking challenges in the region. Regional Representative was accompanied by Rebecca Miller, Regional Programme Coordinator for Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling. The First Secretary and the Head of Chancery A.W. S Samanmali also joined the discussion.
Permanent Representative, H.E. (Mrs.) Samantha K. Jayasuriya, as the chair of the Seventh Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development 7APFSD briefed the findings of the meeting had with Asia-Pacific Regional Civil Society Engagement Mechanism with a view to overcome technical and logistical issues of conducting the meetings in online platforms and to improve multi-stakeholder engagement at the 8APFSD to be held in March 2021.
