Sri Lanka and Thailand Conclude Negotiations on Landmark Labour Cooperation Framework

The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Bangkok commemorated the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka with an official ceremony held on 4 February 2026 at the Residence of the Ambassador, with the participation of members of the Sri Lankan community, distinguished guests, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and members of the diplomatic corps.

Jayasuriya, as the chair of the Seventh Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development 7APFSD briefed the findings of the meeting had with Asia-Pacific Regional Civil Society Engagement Mechanism with a view to overcome technical and logistical issues of conducting the meetings in online platforms and to improve multi-stakeholder engagement at the 8APFSD to be held in March 2021.
