The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand & Permanent Representative to UNESCAP, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, attended the prestigious event titled “GI Thailand: The Way of the Land, Preserving Local Heritage for Global Recognition,” organized by the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand on Saturday, 21 March 2026, at Baan Dusit Thani, Bangkok.

The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to UNESCAP in Bangkok, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, was invited to deliver a lecture on “Guardians of the Dhamma: The Role of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and Anagarika Dharmapala’s Pioneering Efforts to Preserve Buddhagaya” at the Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, one of Thailand’s foremost centres of Buddhist higher education on 17 March 2026.

Discuss the ways and means to enhance bilateral relations with the inclusion of participation of Sri Lankans in Thailand.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka and Permanent Representative to the UNESCAP, C.A. Chaminda I. Colonne had a virtual meeting with Sri Lankans live in Thailand on 31.08.2021 to discuss the ways and means to enhance bilateral relations with the inclusion of participation of Sri Lankans in Thailand.

President Sanjeewa Ediri Wickramasuriya, Vice President Thilak Dharmasena, Secretary Nishanthi Samarasekera, Treasurer Rajika Wickramasinghe, Auditor Prabath Wimalaratne, Members of the Committee Lal Silva and Kosala Indunil of the Sri Lanka Association in Thailand participated at the discussion.

First Secretary Saritha Ranatunga of the Embassy also joined the meeting.
