Easter, the noblest festival in the Christian calendar

පාස්කුව ලෝකවාසී කිතුනු ජනතාවගේ උතුම්ම මංගල්‍යයයි. පාස්කු මංගල්‍යයේ අර්ථය පාපයෙන් ගැලවීමයි. ජන්ම පාපයෙන් නිදහස් ව, කළ වැරදි ගැන පසුතැවිලි වෙමින් නව දිවියක් ආරම්භ කිරීම ඉන් තවදුරටත් අරුත් ගැන්වෙයි. ලොව පුරා විසිර පැතිර සිටින කිතුනුවෝ අළු බදාදා ආරම්භ වන, දින 40 ක කාලපරිච්ඡේදයක් ක්‍රිස්තූන් වහන්සේගේ දුක් ප්‍රාප්තිය සහ මරණය සිහිකරමින් ආධ්‍යාත්මික වතාවත්හි නිරත වෙති. පාස්කු ඉරු දින ඔවුහු උන්වහන්සේ උත්ථාන වීමේ විජයග්‍රාහී මොහොත මහත් ප්‍රීතියෙන් සමරති. කිතුනු ජනතාව මේ කාලය තුළ ක්‍රිස්තූන් වහන්සේ මානව සංහතිය පාපයෙන් මුදාගැනීමේ චේතනාවෙන් කුරුසියේ දුක්විඳ ඉතා වේදනාකාරී මරණය පරාජය කර නැවත නැගිට විමුක්තිය අත් කර දීම මෙනෙහි කරති. ශ්‍රී ලාංකේය කිතුනු ජනතාව අසීමිත ගෞරවයෙන් හා භක්තිවන්තව සමරන පාස්කු සමය අන්තවාදී ම්ලේච්ඡ ප්‍රහාරයකට වරෙක ගොදුරු විය. ඉන් බිඳුණු හදවත්වල වේදනාව අදටත් මැකී ගොස් නැත. ඒ පාපී ක්‍රියාවට වැරදිකරුවන් වන පුද්ගලයන්ට සහ කණ්ඩායම්වලට නීතියෙන් ගැලවීමට අප කිසිදු ඉඩක් තබන්නේ නැත. එසේම නැවත එවන් ඛේදාන්තයන්ට කවර හෝ අවසරයක් නොලැබෙන පරිදි ජාතික ආරක්ෂාව තහවුරු කිරීමට රජය වග වී සිටී. ජේසුස් වහන්සේ එදා දේශනා කළ මානව විමුක්තිය සමාජයට ශක්තියකි. අද ලෝකය හමුවේ මුහුණ පෑමට සිදුවන බහුවිධ තාඩන පීඩන පරාජය කර නැගී සිටීමටත් ප්‍රේමයෙන් දයාවෙන් යුතු මානව හිතවාදී සමාජයක් තුළ ජීවත්වීමටත් මේ පාස්කු සමය ආශීර්වාදයක් කරගනිමු. ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ 2021.04.01

உயிர்ப்பு விழா உலக வாழ் கிறிஸ்தவ மக்களின் உன்னதமான பண்டிகையாகும். உயிர்ப்பு விழாவின் பொருள் பாவத்திலிருந்து இரட்சிப்பு பெறுவதாகும். பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுபட்டு, செய்த பாவத்திற்காக மனம் வருந்தி புதியதோர் வாழ்க்கையை ஆரம்பிப்பதையும் இது குறித்து நிற்கிறது. உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் திருநீற்றுப் புதன் தொடங்கி 40 நாள் தவக் காலத்தில் கிறிஸ்துவின் துன்பம், மரணம் மற்றும் இறப்பை நினைவுகூரும் ஆன்மீக கிரியைகளில் ஈடுபடுகிறார்கள். உயிர்த்த ஞாயிறன்று இயேசு பிரானின் உயிர்த்தெழுதலின் வெற்றிகரமான தருணத்தை அவர்கள் மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள். இக்காலப் பகுதியில் கிறிஸ்தவ மக்கள் மனிதகுலத்தை பாவத்திலிருந்து மீட்கும் நோக்கத்துடன் இயேசு நாதர் சிலுவையில் துன்பப்பட்டு மரணத்தை வென்று மீண்டும் உயிர்த்தெழுந்து விடுதலையைப் பெற்றுத் தந்ததை நினைவு கூர்கின்றனர். இரண்டு வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னர் இலங்கை வாழ் கிறிஸ்தவ மக்கள் மிகுந்த பக்தியுடனும் கௌரவத்துடனும் உயிர்த்த நாளை கொண்டாடிக் கொண்டிருந்த தருணத்தில் காட்டுமிராண்டித்தனமான தீவிரவாத தாக்குதலுக்கு இலக்காக நேர்ந்தது. இந்த துன்பியல் சம்பவத்தினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட இதயங்களின் வலி இன்னும் ஆறவில்லை. அந்த பாவச் செயலை புரிந்த குற்றவாளிகளான தனிநபர்களுக்கோ குழுக்களுக்கோ சட்டத்திலிருந்து தப்பிக்க இடமளிக்கப்பட மாட்டாது. அதே சமயம் சமூகத்தில் இதுபோன்ற அனர்த்தங்கள் மீண்டும் இடம்பெறாத வகையில் தேசிய பாதுகாப்பை உறுதி செய்வதற்கு அரசாங்கம் உறுதிபூண்டுள்ளது. இயேசு நாதர் அன்று போதித்த மனித விடுதலை பற்றிய செய்தி சமூகத்திற்கு ஒரு பலமான அடித்தளமாக விளங்குகிறது. இன்று உலகம் எதிர்கொள்ளும் பல்வேறு சிக்கல்கள் பிரச்சினைகளில் இருந்து விடுபடவும் அன்பும் இரக்கமும் கொண்ட ஒரு மனிதாபிமான சமூகத்தில் வாழவும் இந்த உயிர்த்த நாளில் நாம் உறுதிகொள்வோம். உங்கள் அனைவருக்கும் இனிய உயிர்த்த நாள் வாழ்த்துக்கள்! கோட்டாபய ராஜபக்ஷ 2021 ஏப்ரல் 01 ஆம் திகதி

Easter, the noblest festival in the Christian calendar, symbolizes the victory over evil and sin. Easter further provides devotees an opportunity to repent each individual’s sin in order to bring the spirit of renewal to the human life. The Christians all over the world spend the 40 day lent period begins on Ash Wednesday indulging in religious activities recalling the crucifixion, sacrifice, and the death of Jesus. They celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, with full of joy and delight, on Easter Sunday. The Christian community, during this period, commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to save humanity. Two years ago, when the Easter Sunday was being celebrated by the Sri Lankan Christian community with utmost devotion, they became victims of most brutal attacks by extremists. The sorrowful memory of pain and loss caused by this tragic incident had not faded away from the broken hearts of the suffering people even today. We will leave no room for the culprits as well as groups, who are responsible for this dastardly attack to escape the arm of law. Also, the government is determined to ensure national security in order to prevent recurrence of such tragedies in the Motherland. The Christian teaching of love and mercy that Jesus Christ taught us provides a strong foundation for the society. Therefore, let us determine that in this Easter Sunday, we will unite and stand together to overcome various conflicts and calamities that we have to face in today’s world and to live in a society filled with love and harmony.
