The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand & Permanent Representative to UNESCAP, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, attended the prestigious event titled โ€œGI Thailand: The Way of the Land, Preserving Local Heritage for Global Recognition,โ€ organized by the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand on Saturday, 21 March 2026, at Baan Dusit Thani, Bangkok.

Finalizing MoU between AIT, Thailand and State Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovations of Sri Lanka on possible partnerships in skill development sector in Sri Lanka and MoU on Capacity Building PhD Partnership Programme between the AIT, Thailand and UGC, Sri Lanka were among the matters discussed during the meeting. While thanking for educational opportunities provided for Sri Lankan students for postgraduate studies, for furthering relations with Sri Lanka, Ambassador Chaminda Colonne invited Chairman Dr. Tongchat Hongladaromp and President Dr. Eden Y. Woon to visit Sri Lanka in the near future.
