Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Bangkok Meets with UNODC Regional Representative to Address Transboundary Human Trafficking Issues

The Ambassador and Permanent Representative E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe met with the UNODC Regional Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Masood Karimipour on 09 th January 2025, to discuss the pressing issue of emerging transboundary human trafficking challenges in the region. Regional Representative was accompanied by Rebecca Miller, Regional Programme Coordinator for Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling. The First Secretary and the Head of Chancery A.W. S Samanmali also joined the discussion.

Final Call: The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Bangkok has arranged a special repatriation flight from Bangkok to Colombo on 21 August 2020, enabling those eligible overseas Sri Lankans to return to the country. If you have not registered for the repatriation flight yet, please submit the following Google form with necessary information for your registration with the Embassy before 06.00 pm on 16 August 2020;
