The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Thailand highlighted the growing partnership between Sri Lanka and Thailand in the areas of education, professional development, and capacity building at the Closing Ceremony of the Professional Development Programme on “Women Leadership in the Banking Sector”, held on 27 June 2026 at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.

In order to promote Ceylon Tea among the Tea importers in Thailand, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand and Permanent Representative to UNESCAP, C. A. Chaminda I. Colonne, chaired an online discussion organised by the Mission on 23.12.2022 between the exporters of Ceylon tea in Sri Lanka and importers of tea in Thailand who enjoy Tea import quota given by the Government of Thailand.

The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tea Board, Niraj De Mel, tea importers in Thailand, members of Tea Exporters Association of Sri Lanka and other Ceylon tea exporters in Sri Lanka joined the online discussion.

First Secretary/Head of Chancery, A. W. S. Samanmali and First Secretary (Commercial), Vireshika Bandara of the Mission were associated with the Ambassador & Permanent Representative.
