Ambassador of Sri Lanka Participates in the 15th Celebration of Silk: Thai Silk Road to the World

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka & Permanent Representative to Thailand, E.A.S. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe represented in the 15th Celebration of Silk: Thai Silk Road to the World, held at the Royal Thai Navy Convention Hall in Bangkok, together with her spouse and two daughters. The family proudly showcased costumes inspired by traditional Sri Lankan attire and crafted from Thai silk by students of Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka through a creative fusion with Thailand’s renowned silk craftsmanship.

In a solemn and spiritually uplifting celebration of the International Day of Vesak 2026, the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka together with the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Nepal in Bangkok jointly hosted a special commemorative event on 28 May 2026 at the iconic Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan (Wat Pho), one of Thailand’s most sacred and historically significant Buddhist temples.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand and Permanent Representative to UNESCAP, C. A. Chaminda I. Colonne, chaired an online discussion organised by the Mission on 16.09.2022 to connect Sri Lankan spices exporters with spices importers in Thailand.

Advisor of the Food Processing Club of the Federation of Thai Industries, Visit Limprana, members of the Food Processing Club, Chief Executive Officer of the Spices and Allied Products Marketing Board, Director General of the Industrial Development Board, P. L. U. Rathnamalala, officials of the Sri Lanka export Development Board and Sri Lankan spices exporters joined the discussion.

First Secretary/Head of Chancery, A. W. S. Samanmali and First Secretary (Commercial), Vireshika Bandara of the Mission were associated with the Ambassador & Permanent Representative.
