The 2nd anniversary of the Herostone (Nadukal) was commemorated at Wat Thaworn Wararam, honoring the tens of thousands of Asian civilian forced laborers who perished during the construction of the Burma Railway construction, also known as the Thai-Burma “Death Railway,” during World War II.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Bangkok is pleased to announce the ceremonial handover of a seven-foot-tall Buddha statue to the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, at Wat Hatainaresh Temple.

Though most people have only heard of Yala or Udawalawe National Park, Sri Lanka is actually home to a total of 22 national parks across the island.
