His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajaraklaochaoyuhua
King of the Kingdom of Thailand
Your Majesty,
On behalf of the Government and people of Sri Lanka, I extend my warmest congratulations and heartfelt wishes to Your Majesty, the Government and people of the Kingdom of Thailand on the auspicious occasion of the National Day of Thailand and the Birth Anniversary of His late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great.
His late Majesty was a benevolent leader and a strong advocate of the longstanding bilateral relations between our countries and with Her Majesty Rajawongse Sirikit Kitiyakara, Queen Mother, visited Sri Lanka in 1950, deepening the ties we continue to nurture today.
We share an abiding friendship founded on our special historical and religious ties. Theravada Buddhism has been a foundational feature which binds our two countries and our people in a special way. As Thailand celebrates these significant dual milestones, I reaffirm Sri Lanka’s unwavering commitment to further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between our nations.
Please accept, Your Majesty, my best wishes for your good health, happiness and personal well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the People of Thailand.
