The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Bangkok proudly participated in the 59th Red Cross Charity Bazaar, one of Thailand’s most prominent annual fundraising events organized by the Thai Red Cross Society, held from 26 February to 01 March 2026 at Siam Paragon.

The event was graciously presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, private sector representatives, and the general public. The Bazaar serves as a major platform to raise funds in support of the humanitarian and charitable activities of the Thai Red Cross Society.

Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand, H.E. Mrs. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, attended the opening ceremony of the event.

This year’s programme brought together products and crafts from more than 50 countries under one roof. The annual charity fair showcased international food, fashion, beauty items, and handicrafts, with proceeds supporting humanitarian work nationwide.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka showcased a variety of Ceylon tea, Sri Lankan spices, and traditional handicraft items, which attracted significant interest from visitors. Tourism promotional brochures were also distributed, providing information on Sri Lanka’s diverse attractions, cultural heritage, and travel experiences.

Sri Lanka’s participation highlighted the country’s rich cultural heritage and culinary traditions while reaffirming its continued support for charitable initiatives in Thailand. The Embassy’s involvement also reflects the longstanding friendship and close cooperation between Sri Lanka and the Kingdom of Thailand.
