Sri Lanka–Thailand Partnership Strengthened through Women Leadership Development Programme for Banking Professionals at AIT Thailand
The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Thailand highlighted the growing partnership between Sri Lanka and Thailand in the areas of education, professional development, and capacity building at the Closing Ceremony of the Professional Development Programme on “Women Leadership in the Banking Sector”, held on 27 June 2026 at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.

An official invitation was recently extended to Mrs. World 2025 from Thailand, Ms. Chanita Seedaket Craythorne, inviting her to visit Sri Lanka as the Guest of Honour at the launch ceremony of Mrs. Sri Lanka World 2026.
Newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath assumed duties at the Ministry today (25 September 2024) at a simple ceremony. Foreign Secretary Aruni Wijewardane and senior officials of the Ministry were present.
As a Member of Parliament, Minister Herath has represented the Gampaha District since 2000. He had also previously served as the Minister of Cultural Affairs National Heritage.
Minister Herath holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kelaniya.
