Sri Lankan Ambassador to Thailand Visits Wat Phra Dhammakaya to Strengthen Religious Relations

Ambassador of Sri Lanka & Permanent Representative to the Kingdom of Thailand E.A.S Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, participated in the “CTBT@30: 30 Years of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) in ASEAN” Youth Outreach Event, jointly organized by the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) and the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) in Bangkok.
The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Thailand participated in Kaset Fair 2025, organized by Kasetsart University from 31 January to 8 February 2025 at the university’s premises.
The fair, a prominent annual event in Thailand, featured a diverse array of agricultural innovations, food products, and research exhibitions, attracting thousands of visitors.
Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana presided over the grand opening ceremony, which brought together exhibitors and vendors from across Thailand and beyond.
In a special gesture of cultural exchange, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, presented a traditional batik painting depicting the Kandy Esala Perahera to Her Royal Highness, symbolizing Sri Lanka’s deep-rooted cultural heritage and the enduring friendship between the two nations.
The Sri Lanka Embassy’s stall showcased the country’s world renowned Ceylon tea, Ceylon cinnamon and vibrant batik products, drawing significant attention from visitors interested in Sri Lanka’s unique exports. The exhibition provided an excellent platform to promote Sri Lanka’s rich cultural and agricultural heritage.
The Embassy’s participation at Kaset Fair 2025 reiterated Sri Lanka’s commitment to strengthening trade, cultural and people-to-people ties with Thailand, further fostering economic cooperation between the two nations.
