At the invitation for Sri Lanka as the close counterpart by the Secretariat of the Senate of Thailand, the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka joined the Grassroots Economy Products Exhibition at the Thai Parliament from 26-27 September 2023 on the occasion of the 4th Anniversary of Senators Meet the People Project.

At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand Don Pramudwinai, Foreign Minister Ali Sabry participated at the inaugural BIMSTEC Foreign Ministers’ Retreat on 17 July 2023 in Bangkok. The Foreign Ministers of BIMSTEC Member States welcomed the initiative of Thailand to host a Retreat which facilitated an exchange of ideas in an informal setting.

The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in consulation with the Community Development Department of the Ministry of Interior of Thailand, for the very first time made arrangemets to showcase and sell Sri Lankan products from National Crafts Council, Spices and Allied Products Marketing Board, Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Industrial Development Board and Handicrafts Board at the “OTOP City-2022” from 17-25 December 2022 in IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre, Nonthaburi, Thailand.
